Pre-exposure prophylaxis is a medicine that you can take to prevent HIV (HIV PrEP) and STIs (Doxy PrEP). When taken as prescribed, PrEP can stop the spread of HIV and STIs from one individual to the next. PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV from sex (99%) and injection drug use (74%).

In 2022, there were 215 new diagnoses of HIV infection among AI/AN people.

Undetectable = Untransmittable. A person living with HIV who is on treatment and maintains an undetectable viral load has zero risk of transmitting HIV to their sexual partners.
